Since I last left I’ve been to 4 cities…
Norman, Springfield, Houston, and Denver.
Norman/OKC:
weather: hot
town: ugly
sooner: nation
cut: made
casino: won
golf course: underrated
nash: bad shopper
My time in Norman was ~fine~. I would never recommend anyone go live in OKC but hey, fat girls need love too.
With that being said, the Korn Ferry Tour treated us like kings — by far the best food setup for the caddies — basically all you can eat Chic-Fil-A and BEC bagels for the week, not bad.
Matthew made his first professional cut.
I left the casinos up $100, shoutout to me.
Got talked into buying a 3-pack of polo striped socks by a cute cashier… it’s officially a thing. Nash said it was a huge missed #opportunity not asking for her number… probably so.
Springfield/STL:
lincoln: underappreciated
scheels: monstrocity
margaritas: lemonade-like
ferris wheel: ridden
the arch: dope
cake shake: ehhhhhhh, overrated
cozad: good to see
debate: embarrassing
cardinals: rainout
Springfield was pretty uninspiring. Not even the people from Springfield had good things to say about Springfield.
We went to Lincoln’s home thinking it would be cool to look at… we spent 3 minutes and left. We thought it might be cool to see the Lincoln Presidential Library… we spent 10 minutes listening to some guy whose made it his life goal to look like Lincoln and left.
We spent too much time on both of those activities.
Riedel made his second cut. Golf course was easier than playing rookie on Madden, but hey, he still beat a lot of good players. And we saw our high school golf coach.
Houston:
KC: still cookin
weather: miserable
golf: choppy
food: goated
Haven’t been in Houston in the summer in about 3 years, wouldn’t recommend. Good to see parents, good to eat food with flavor, good to see a few people, but that’s about it.
Denver:
cherry hills: logo
weather: pleasant
mountains: distant
tpc colorado: surprising
estes park: medicinal
women: attractive
rockymountainnationalpark: not as good as Roosevelt national park
takeaway: why live elsewhere
Only been here for a few days but it’s pretty spectacular. There is something about the mountains.
Summer observations:
a person that thinks a cybertruck is uncool is someone that I don’t respect
a person that calls a golf course a “track” is a chopper
a velvet shirt plays with everyone besides your friends because they’re unwilling to step out of their comfort zone
people think that fasting is psychotic (it’s not)
pushups are a good way to waste time
coffee/wimbledon is pretty unbeatable
a man that greets someone with “howdy” is a man that is lost
friends are important
Will be back with more thoughts at some point, I haven’t done a good job documenting or fleshing out my thoughts
Sorry Mel and I missed you on our visit last week Great to catch up with your Mom
Yes H town is not the place to be in the summer Escape whenever you can Mountains are good esp in ABQ So happy you are trekking the country
